Press ReleasesTOP MAN TO HEAD MOELLER WESTERN CAPE
Moeller Electric has reorganised its Cape Town branch to allow customers easier access to Moeller products and expertise. The automation and switchgear company has appointed Gareth Horton, one of the industry's leading salesmen, to manage operations there. A consistent over-achiever during his time in Johannesburg, Horton is trained in both the mechanical and electrical fields, and has extensive experience in sales and customer relations. Moeller Electric's Cape Town team now offers a combined 30 years' experience in the Moeller product and its applications. According to Horton, initial focus will be on establishing and strengthening relationships between the branch and its customers. "For various reasons, the Western Cape has experienced a lowering of the Moeller profile in recent years," Horton admitted. "The tendency has been to wait for the customer to come to us, but what we want to do instead is work with our customers as partners. "We want to get closer to them, and so we will be shortening our call cycles and re-focusing on their needs. "We will be proactively bringing our technical capabilities and problem-solving experience directly to them," Horton said. Moeller is known and respected worldwide as an innovative leader in high quality automation and switchgear. Recent product introductions have included the DS6 soft-starter series for motors between 18,5 and 110kW; the Expert and Basic Networking Packages (ENP; BNP), which are smart power distribution packages for motor control and power control centres; a new range of high performance modular PLCs, and additional models in its proven xStart range of DC contactors. Steady penetration of the market by Moeller's NZM range of circuit-breakers continues. In the Western Cape, Moeller Electric's main markets are the wine, fishing and energy industries. Horton's challenge here will be to re-establish the reputation of the Moeller product as a leading brand, and to recapture market share. "While the product is generally accepted as a leading brand, we need to improve the Moeller Electric service in this province," Horton said. "Our initial task will be to see more customers here more often, and listen carefully to what it is that they are looking for," he concluded. |
