Press ReleasesNew Moeller PLCs
They will bring increased flexibility to the end-user, allowing him to design an automation system precisely matched to the requirement and making possible access via the Ethernet. Ethernet access is considered essential for many applications to deliver efficient communication between the PLCs within the system on the one hand, and for data exchange with primary level control systems via communication standards such as OPC on the other. The entry level XC100 PLC range is equipped with virtually everything from memory card to integrated fieldbus, and according to Moeller Electric forms a good basis for meeting constantly increasing requirements. The integrated CANopen interface enables the system to be directly coupled to standard CANopen fieldbus participants with a transmission speed of up to 500 kBaud. Lower-level fieldbus controllers can be programmed from the host controller, facilitating commissioning and diagnostics later on. The XC200 modular PLC series offers high processing capacity and advanced communication features. Apart from the RS232 interface, these features are facilitated by a CANopen fieldbus interface for connection of standard fieldbus components, and in particular by the integrated Ethernet interface which can be used as the programming interface, as well as for efficient data transfer between PLCs or other devices with Ethernet interfaces. The OPC server also simplifies the connection with the standardised OPC client applications. The XC200 series incorporates two different feature levels. At the first level, the XC-CPU-201 is ideal for high-speed cycle requirements and excellent communication capability. Richer in features, the XC201-XV is an efficient specialised intelligent web server for convenient remote access, incorporating a web server to facilitate access to the PLC data via standard web browsers, and allowing web page creation via Moeller's XSoft Professional programming system. Additional features within XSoft-Professional provide for programming, testing and commissioning the new modular PLCs, with the objective of lowering costs by reducing the time needed for engineering and diagnostics. Moeller's XIOC range covers the need for expansion modules. Up to 15 modules, selected from a wide range of digital, analog and intelligent I/O functions, can be connected directly to each controller, with up to 32 input-outputs connected in a space 30mm wide and 100mm deep, saving space in the control panel and enabling the design of compact automation solutions. All terminations can be made via plug-in terminal blocks in screw or tension-clamp technology. This simplifies pre-wiring and allows a quick exchange of modules. Moeller Electric's new high performance modular PLCs will be available from April 2006. |
